About
Dubai Sinfonia, founded by CMA in 2010, brings together musicians from different nationalities and backgrounds together for one common goal – to perform collectively to the best of their abilities and to put on concerts for the community of Dubai.
The orchestra held its successful inaugural concert in March 2010 conducted by Peter Currie in Centrepoint Theatre in DUCTAC featuring performances of Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man; Brahms' Tragic Overture; Stravinsky's Two Suites for Small Orchestra and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 2. Since then, the orchestra has held a concert in Dubai College Auditorium which also included an open rehearsal for school students and workshop run by Peter Currie for children. The orchestra was also delighted to perform at the 2011 Emirates Airline Festival of Literature with Martyn Bagnall conducting the orchestra for the first time. We look forward to more opportunities to share music with the community in the future.
